11.2.4 Build your financial plan

If you've made it this far, you've shown the interest and determination to get control of your finances. You can see that developing the plan is a matter of answering a series of questions about your life and making some decisions. Some questions will take a little thought. The more you put into working out your own financial plan, the more successful you will be. A well thought-out financial plan can help you achieve what's important to you.

Now complete a financial plan for yourself. You can download a PDF file to work or use the interactive section below and print your data, but you cannot save your information on this website.

  • If you don't have all the data you need, enter your best guess. Then gather more accurate information and update the plan.
  • If you need more information about how to fill in any section, refer to the modules suggested in the notes on each page of the plan.
  • If you need expert advice, go to the section of this module titled Financial professionals.
